My dryer has no heat? Check that the dryer is not set to the cool down period. Try the reset button on the rear of the machine. It is usually towards the top right of the machine at the rear. The button is usually red and will not make a noise when you press it.

For small compact dryers, the reset button is in the centre of the machine at the rear and is a fan shaped red button. Again, this will not make a noise when it is pressed.

My Condenser Dryer is not working. Has the machine been overloaded?  Check the lint filter, condenser and associated duct work are clean.  To clean the condenser, flush the fluff from between the plates under running water and carefully shake off excess water.  A shower is ideal for carrying out this task.  Whilst the condenser is removed, clean as much fluff as possible from inside the ducting by reaching a hand into the machine.  In particular, keep the passage from the fan clear (on the right hand side of the condenser duct).  Reset the cut-out at the rear of the machine by pressing the red button.  If the cut-out continues to operate after checking the above points you should contact the service agent.

What does a built-in vent kit mean on an electric tumble dryer?
Some air vented models are fitted with a built-in vent kit.  The vent hose telescopes in and out of the rear of the dryer when required. Only integrated appliances come with a wall fixing kit. Any plumbers merchant or DIY store will sell these at a low cost if you wish to purchase one. Small compact dryers will have the vent pipe stored in the drum when you receive it.

How big is the vent pipe? For full size appliances the length is 1.8 metres (5.9ft) with a 10cm diameter (4 inch). For small compact machines the length is 1.4 metres (4.5ft) with a 10cm diameter (4 inch).

I have purchased a tumble dryer with a built in vent kit but no vent hose has been supplied?
If you look towards the right hand corner at the rear of the machine you will see a square white plastic assembly with a hole in the middle.  By twisting and pulling on the white plastic ribs which cross over the hole the vent hose will be released.

Where does the filter fit in the dryer?
When the door is opened a gap can be seen in the base of the opening between the drum and front panel.  The filter slots into this gap and should be cleaned after each drying cycle.

There is a gap above the door of my integrated tumble dryer? 

There is a gap above the door of my integrated tumble dryer is this normal?,  Yes this is the design of the integrated tumble dryer door, the door completely seals and is nothing to be of  concern.

Where is the vent hose positioned on tumble dryers?
Dependant on the model, a vent hose may or may not be supplied with the machine.  Vent hoses are positioned near the bottom of the rear panel of the dryer and looking from the rear are towards the right hand side on the large air vented versions and the left hand side on the small air vented and gas versions.

Every few minutes the drum rotates on my tumble dryer after my clothes are dry.
A number of models are fitted with an anti-crease function which will rotate the drum every few minutes until the door is opened or the electric supply is turned off.

Where can I find the model code or serial number? The model code and serial number can be found on a sticker just inside the dryer door (e.g. model code 0312 38A 15090, serial number 0124 123456). The model code can also be found on the rating plate on the rear of the machine.

What does the drum capacity mean? The drum capacity relates to the weight of clothes the dryer can take in the drum. This relates to the WET weight of the clothes. Over loading your dryer will damage the bearing over time.

What is the difference between a vented and a condenser dryer? A vented machine removes the excess water  as steam outside your home via a vent pipe. A condenser dryer removes the steam in to a box where it condensates and cools, collecting water. Condenser dryers have a removable collection box that you will need to manually empty. Once it becomes full your dryer will stop working until it is emptied.

What is the difference between a sensor and a timer dryer? A sensor dryer will sense when the clothes have reached the level of dryness you have selected e.g. iron dry, cupboard dry etc. Some sensor dryers also have a timer option. Timer dryers have a timer which you will set and after this time the dryer will switch its self off regardless of the dryness of clothes.

What is the difference between an Electric and a Gas Dryer? An electric dryer is powered by electricity and will be plugged in to an electrical socket in your house. Gas dryers need fitting by an Engineer who is Gas safe registered as the product will run from the Gas supply in your house. Gas dryers still need an electricity supply and will also need to be plugged in to an electrical socket in your house. Gas dryers do not come with the hose which attaches to the Gas supply, this hose will be supplied and fitted by your Gas Safe Engineer. Can vented dryers be used with a condensing box? Using a condensing box on a vented machine will void your guarantee. These are not tested by the manufacturer for safety or efficacy.
